Azienda agricola Zardo Zardo
The Zardo winery is located in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, right on the crest of Mount Masua, which overlooks the Negrar valley. The winery manages 18 hectares of estate-owned vineyards, spread across various areas of the Veronese hills, from Lake Garda to eastern Valpolicella.
The company is now run by Andrea Zardini, representing the fourth generation of winemakers producing Valpolicella wines. It was Andrea’s great-grandfather who started the business, when the fields were still worked with the help of animals. Technologies have changed dramatically, but the desire to produce high-quality products that satisfy every palate hasn’t. For this reason, only the finest grapes are selected from the 18 hectares of the estate, while the remainder are sent to third-party wineries, ensuring a limited annual production of approximately seven thousand bottles, divided into six labels: Lugana, Bianco Verona IGT, Spumante Rosé Brut, Valpolicella, Ripasso, and Amarone.
Zardo, however, doesn’t just represent wine producers; it’s a more comprehensive hospitality project, which includes wine tastings in the cellar and insights into life in the vineyard. It also offers thirty beds for those who want to experience Valpolicella at a slower pace. Guests can stay overnight in one of their properties to savor the tranquility of the Valpolicella hills, relax, and participate in the various outdoor activities they organize.
Join one of our Valpolicella Classica tours for the opportunity to meet Andrea, learn more about the history of the Zardo winery, and taste its wines, a true expression of the Veronese terroir.
