Damoli winery: authenticity in Valpolicella

Damoli winery: authenticity in Valpolicella

10 July 2020

Take a house surrounded by vineyards in the very heart of Valpolicella classica and add a family, which completely dedicates itself to the wine business. Then, mix everything with a 5-generation-old experience and dress it with a good deal of overwhelming passion for the wine world. The result is Damoli winery, a tiny yet amazing place where you can find the true essence of Valpolicella lifestyle, philosophy and wine making heritage.

Damoli's story

Now, let us tell you a little bit the story of this family. Everything started out with the great-grandfather of the guys who today runs the company, Daniele and Lara. But it was only their grandfather Francesco who decided to make a living out of the wine business. Therefore, he put in practice what his dad thought him and started to produce top quality Valpolicella wines. He later passed on the torch to his son Bruno who, together with his kids, runs the winery today. In spite of its very long history, Damoli winery is a super young and lively winery. When the two siblings took it over about 15 years ago, they gave their winery a fresh and genuine personality. A personality, which perfectly matches the characters of its owners.

Authenticity

Damoli winery is a member of the FIVI (Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti), an association which put together the Italian wineries that follow every single step in the production of their wines. This is one of the things that make this winery so authentic: Damoli’s family controls everything from the beginning until the end. Bruno takes care of his vineyards which lie in the beautiful hills of Negrar, in Valpolicella Classica. Daniele follows the wine making process from the harvest until the bottling and Lara dedicates herself to marketing, sales and wine tastings. What we love about them is that their being so authentic is something real. You breath genuiness in the vineyards around the winery, you touch frankness when you meet this family and you taste the soul of Valpolicella when you drink their wines. If you want to understand what Valpolicella means, here you are in the right place.

A tribute to Valpolicella

After having visited the winery, Lara introduces you to her family’s wine selection. The most distinctive trait of their wines is the exclusive use of indigenous grapes. This is a tribute to the land Damoli's family comes form and loves so much. Two wines perfectly represent the mix between tradition and innovation. The first one is Checo, the Amarone they dedicate to their granddad Francesco. The second is Avant-Garde – a classic method sparkling white wine made 100% out of Corvina. Checo is infact the quintessential Amarone, dry, elegant and majestic. An Amarone which sticks to tradition instead of following the market rules. Avant-Garde is on the contrary the innovative spirit of Damoli, characterized by freshness and sapidity but also elegance and persistence. If you want to touch and taste Valpolicella then you just have to book a Two Amarone wineries or a Three Amarone wineries and ask for Damoli. We will make you fall in love with Valpolicella.
