Tenuta Grimani Grimani
Tenuta Grimani cannot be described without mentioning the Cavaggioni family. It’s a story that begins in the early decades of the last century in the village of Roncà and continues to this day thanks to the work of Dino Cavaggioni and Maria Dal Cero, who, along with their children Laura and Andrea, dedicate themselves daily to tending the vineyards and cellar, with the same passion and dedication as in the early years.
The Grimanis, the original owners of the estate, were a powerful Venetian family who, among their numerous properties, chose the Roncà lands, at the foot of the Lessini Mountains, to cultivate vineyards and produce wines renowned throughout the Venetian Republic.
The same lands were purchased in the early decades of the 20th century by Pietro Cavaggioni, Laura and Andrea’s grandfather, and are today the family’s true heritage. The Cavaggionis are certainly not as rich and powerful as the Grimanis, but they love this land more than anything. They know every vine and care for every single bunch of grapes, as they vinify only their own grapes and personally oversee every stage of production. They are committed to ensuring that their wines authentically express the character of a territory and its producers, and so they put themselves on the line.
Laura and Andrea, now in charge of the estate, are Independent Winemakers, meaning they personally oversee every step of their winemaking process, from the vine to the winemaking process, all the way to managing customer contact and product sales. In short, a family business where respect for the land and care for the fruits of the earth always come first.
