Davide
Davide Canteri - Founder & Experience Curator

A native of Valpolicella, Davide is the soul and founder of Pagus Wine Tours. His vision took shape at the University of Verona with a thesis in Letters on wine production and stone extraction in Roman times, followed by specialization at CUOA Business School in the valorization of Veneto’s cultural and tourist heritage. He is the pioneer who transformed historical research into a holistic wine tourism model, capable of conveying the cultural complexity of the Scaliger territory.

Having led over a thousand guided tours in Valpolicella, Soave, Lugana, and the sparkling wine areas of Franciacorta, Prosecco, and Trento DOC, Davide blends technical precision with the narrative sensitivity of a lecturer and documentary maker. As the driving force behind Pagus, he trains our team and guarantees a quality that intertwines historical roots and wine culture, offering our guests a deep and technically impeccable understanding of every territory visited.

The whole experience was memorable. Davide, our tour guide was well prepared, he shared many-many information about the region including histrory of the Valpolicella region, and stories about the Valpolicella wine as well, furthermore he brought us to the San Giorgio hamlet before to go to the winery of which owner was very kind. Barbara showed the vineyard plots, the cellar, explained the winemaking process of her wines and offered us to taste different types of Valpolicella of their own cellar paired with local ham, cheese and polenta in their exclusive tasting room. It was a superb program!

We had an amazing time with Davide who was so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the Valpolicella region including the history, the geography and most importantly the wine! We visited the Bonazzi Badin vineyard and it was lovely. The scenery was gorgeous, the tasting was generous and informative and you can tell the wines were made with love. Hugest thanks to all for making our day so special. We couldn’t recommend it more!

We absolutely loved this tour! Our tour guide, Anna, was so wonderful. She was knowledgable and answered all our questions. The boat ride around Lake Garda was beautiful. Our visit to the vineyard, Elèva, was amazing. We learned so much from Davide Gaeta. The wine and pairings were fantastic. This was one of our favorite days in Italy!

Highly recommend this wine tasting experience with Pagus tours. Our group comprised 2 couples with Anna as driver & information provider! We had a great time at both the wineries visited - wine was plentiful & delicious, as were the cold platters of local meats & cheeses. Would we go again and would we recommend: 100%
