Giovanni Menti Menti

They like to call themselves “masters of ancient wine“, because the experience passed down through generations has undoubtedly made them experts in the art of making wine the way it once was. Here, they produce natural wines that embody the values of sustainability, authenticity, and respect for the land that the Menti family has always strived to embody.

They are located in Gambellara, between Vicenza and Verona, at the southeastern edge of the Lessinia region, in a beautiful area dotted with rolling hills and soils derived from ancient volcanoes. Here, Garganega grapes have always been grown almost exclusively, a native variety with exceptional potential for drying and long aging, but also extremely versatile for the production of dry, mineral white wines.

Giovanni Menti, great-grandfather of current owner Stefano, arrived in Gambellara at the end of the 19th century, dedicating himself to the cultivation of fruit trees, legumes, vegetables, olive groves, and Garganega grape vines. Stefano, the fourth generation of the family, revolutionized the approach to agriculture that had been in place since the 1970s, proposing a company philosophy that looks to the past, toward more sustainable viticulture, focused on respect for the environment and consumer health. Thanks to years of experimentation, study, and research, he thus approached biodynamic agriculture and the production of natural wines. Since then, Stefano has worked diligently to spread and teach his philosophy of respect for the environment and those around us.

In this ambitious project to protect the territory, Stefano is supported by his family and a close-knit team who share his biodynamic principles and respect for tradition and ancient methods.
