Fresh handmade pasta, delicious cheeses & cold cuts, Italian gelato: that’s the triad of Valpolicella food excellences! If you’d like to know more about these gastronomic pleasures of Valpolicella, you definitely cannot miss this fantastic experience: a tour thought by foodies for foodies.
You’ll first visit a cheese and salami producer where you’ll be tasting a delicious selection of cold cuts and genuine cheeses accompanied by homemade jams and jellies, real food excellences of Valpolicella.
Then, we’ll reach Trattoria Caprini, an institution in our territory for the old tradition of pasta making. Every morning Pierina’s family makes fresh pasta since first years of nineteen hundred. Most importantly, we’ll see the magic happen! The staff will show us how to prepare the perfect pasta and they’ll share with us their secrets. We’ll then taste a selection of three different kinds of pasta and some Valpolicella wine.
To finish our foodie day in a sweet way we’ll visit Marco Scamperle’s gelateria where we’ll be taught how to prepare a creamy Italian artisanal gelato. Marco constantly searches for the best raw materials, processing locally produced fruit and plants. This part of the tour is really dangerous: why? Marco’s gelato is incredible… so be careful: after this experience, eating gelato will never be the same!

We ask you to inform us if you have any appointment after the tour (if you booked a train ticket, an opera show in Arena or a reservation for a restaurant), so we can do our best to respect the schedule.
In the cellar the temperature is constant 15 Celsius degrees (59 Fahrenheit), so we suggest to take with you a sweater or a jacket; if it is possible we will try to show you the vineyards, so it’s recommended to wear sneakers or comfortable shoes.
