A cooking class in Sirmione
A cooking experience in a peaceful location surrounded by vineyards nearby Lake Garda: an incredible day of genuine food and wine discover! The cooking lesson will take place in a cellar or a restaurant near Sirmione, in the Lugana production area. Our half-day cooking lesson is the best way to indulge yourself with good taste and to learn traditions of cooking authentic Italian recipes in an informal and friendly environment.
During the cooking class, you will create a full meal and your teacher will provide you with an explanation on all recipes using traditional Italian cooking methods. The classes are fully hands-on… are you ready for “getting your hands dirty”?
Program of the day
Introduction to the teacher and presentation of the menu of the day. You will immediately start to "get to work" and the teacher will guide you in preparing the dishes. Everybody will cook all the courses with the help of the teacher. You will learn the basic skills necessary to prepare authentic Italian dishes. The ingredients you will use are local, to support local producers. After a couple of hours in the kitchen, you can rest for a while and, if you wish, visit the property. Finally, you will sit down at the table and having lunch, tasting the dishes you have prepared, paired with local wines (Lugana).
The menu may vary according to the season (we can give you more details at the time of booking), but these are some of the dishes you may find yourself preparing:
- Fresh hand-made pasta
- Potato gnocchi
- Sauces for first courses (tomato sauce, pesto…)
- Tiramisù (or other local desserts)

Departure: from your accommodation.
Transport, tour leader at your disposal, cooking lesson, visit to the winery, lunch (with wine included).
Please notice: the tour leader, in respect of all the guests, will wait for you in case of late maximum for 15 minutes.
We want you to spend a lovely day with no distress so, please, in booking our tours, inform us if you have limited mobility (in some old cellars there are stairs); or if you have any intolerance or allergy about food/wine.
We ask you to inform us if you have any appointment after the tour (if you booked a train ticket, an opera show in Arena or a reservation for a restaurant), so we can do our best to respect the schedule.
In the cellar, the temperature is constant 15 Celsius degrees (59 Fahrenheit), so we suggest to take with you a sweater or a jacket; if it is possible we will try to show you the vineyards, so it’s recommended to wear sneakers or comfortable shoes.
