Discover Verona's best tastes

Discover Verona's best tastes

22 October 2021

With the cold and rain of these days, probably your desire to go out is inversely proportional to the desire to pamper yourself with good food and good wine with the flavors of Verona.

Well, thinking precisely this, Pagus Wine Club has been able to put together, exclusively for you who will be part of it, some meetings to discover wines and flavors, to make leaving home and visiting us really worth it.

We have created an experience that will introduce you to the best of Verona's wine and food production, a stone's throw from home.

The opening night is entirely dedicated to a company that strongly believes in its territory and in its native vine, coming to work it exclusively for the production of all its wines: T.E.S.S.A.R.I. winery that in Monteforte d'Alpone produces 5 expressions of Garganega, all for tasting on Thursday 28 October.

In November, we move to the red heart of Verona, Valpolicella, where in two evenings you will get to know the organic wines of Novaia and the tradition of Corte Archi.

With Novaia, you will learn about the Vaona family, which from 1700 to today has carried on the tradition of working the vineyard and producing the excellent wines of the Valpolicella Classica.

Corte Archi is also tradition and another expression of the Classic area. The company was born from Caterina who, a widow with 10 children, in 1910 decided to buy a house, cellar and vineyard that through the generations have led to what is now a company in evolution and continuous research.

On the last evening, in December, you will meet Giovanni Montresor of Corte Quaiara, who produces wines out of the ordinary. Unusual wines for the production area, but which have, precisely for this reason, a meaning, a history, a vision, born of the creativity of those who conceived and produces them.

It will not be just wine, therefore we have invited other realities that will combine the proposals of our winemakers.

You will taste the Orlandi Furioso olive oil, the result of a tenacious idea of Gabriella, who in a fragile and complex moment like the lockdown, wanted to invest and believe in her olive oil.

Then we have Corrado Benedetti, who brings us the best of Lessinia: Monte Veronese Dop and jams, flavored lard, and the winter dish that Verona cannot miss, pearà with cotechino.

If you think it's over, we remind you that we have decided to give you many good reasons to come, so, could you miss the dessert?

Since we are in a winter climate, we have selected a company that makes Pandoro di Verona its strong point: Michele Turco 1909, a pastry shop that makes traditional desserts with excellent ingredients and with the experience that it bears in its name.

Finally, we also went in search of coffee, with Caffè Roen roasting that will bring the blends that it researches and creates with the care of artisanal production.

The only thing left to do now is to book the evenings to prepare sight, hearing and taste for all the flavors and aromas that will envelop you at the Pagus Wine Club. With these evenings, begin to discover a place where we will talk about wine and territory, together with producers, experts and enthusiasts.
